Hi! I'm afraid I'm bringing not so good news. Due to personal problems, I'm forced to postpone second edition of Women Love Fest. It probably will start at the beginning of April and I shall give you a precise date soon. I apologize profusely for this inconvenience.

THE TOTALLY IMPROMPTU FESTIVAL OF AWESOME LADIES

The second edition of Women Love Fest is set to start in March. Exact date is yet to be appointed, but we are now accepting requests for new characters' post. If you want to write about certain lady in the next fest and you can't find her in our tags, go HERE and let us know. We will add her character post as soon as we can. (Max two or three posts per day to avoid spamming your flist, so don't worry about that.) Please, add characters you are certain you will write about, there is already too many posts with no contribution whatsoever.

And if you want to volunteer to make banner for a character who doesn't have one yet, here is a place to do so. Just leave us a comment with character's name. Don't forget to check the comments before you claim.

Then leave a banner in a comment to the character's entry and we will use it to replace the general banner.
You can also leave it here, but please, don't forget to mention who it is. We don't know every character.

Moderators are currently in a process of making character masterposts. I send emails to everyone who volunteered to help, so please check your mailboxes.

Soon after that we are planning a small userinfo renovation, which is why right now we are looking for affiliates. Let us know if you moderate a community and are interested in adding us to your affiliates list. In exchange we will add your community to our list as soon as possible.

With midnight 16.09 (GMT) comes the official end of the first edition of one week dedicated to The Women That Fandom Hates, here at womenlovefest. Exactly one week ago, 9.09 at midnight, we posted first daily entry, our grand opening. We had seven full days during which we posted metas, fics, fanmixes, graphics, etc. about awesome ladies that we feel deserve more love in their respective fandoms.

On behalf of your fantastic moderators who kept this thing running 24/7 (idrilka, juliet42, le_mru, mlekopijca, mullu, upupa_epops), I’d like to thank you all for such an amazing participation and sharing your love for underappreciated female characters. We do feel we somehow made a difference. We also apologize profusely if we missed your comment somewhere and left it unanswered or if we committed other outrageous deeds. Please, be understanding. And keep in mind that running this community was both a pleasure and a privilege. Thank you once again!

I know it might be confusing, seeing as it was stated that fest lasts one week from 9.09 to 16.09 and these are eight days not seven. The things is, as I said before, we didn’t count 16.09 as a posting day, rather treated the beginning of this day as a deadline, therefore these are actually seven day. Women Love Fest lasted precisely one week from midnight 9.09 to midnight 16.09, London time.

Timey Wobbly Timey Wimey Stuff. I know. That’s why I am asking you now. Would you rather next time we specify one week as, for example, 9.09 – 16.09 or perhaps 9.09 – 15.09? Please, answer in a poll below.

We are making 16.09 an official “catch up” day. We understand how RL can get in a way of fandom activity. In fact, you are all free to update character posts with your comments up until 20.09, when we start making masterposts. WHICH MEANS that you can catch up for four days yet: 16.09, 17.09, 18.09, 19.09. Timey Wobbly Timey Wimey Stuff, indeed.

All this taking about next edition, but… are you at all interested? What did you think of this Fest? Would you participate again? And if so, when would you like to see next edition take place, half year from now on or perhaps would you prefer to make it an annual event? Please, check your answer in polls at the end of this post.

As we stated before on other occasions, we will need some help, especially with masterposts in the first place. Please, read all about it here. We are also still looking for people who would like to help with translations to other languages. We want to make this community as multilingual as possible. Some time in the future we will create appropriate user info and it would be awesome if it was available in many many languages.
If you wish to help with masterposts, please leave us your email here in this post or here under character mastepost template. If you already declared your willingness, there is no need to comment again.

There will be a new post in the beginnig of October, where you will be able to request new characters' posts. If your favorite lady doesn't have a post of her own yet, that will be a chance to change it!

2. Some of you informed us that we left some characters without their respective post, even though they were claimed before requests were closed. Sorry about that. We will add them as soon as possible.

3. We added FAQ post, prepared by juliet42, so if you have any questions, please ask them there.

6. miss_faith_hope is wondering if someone is willing to help her run the tumblr account dedicated to this fest. If you are interested, please let her know!

Just a quick announcement. Sometimes lj just chooses to mark some of your comments as spam. There probably is a funny technical reason I don't know, but right now it looks completely random. So if you posted a comment and there was no error or nothing, but after refreshing the entry page the comment doesn't show, just comment here or PM wlfmod, we'll fix it.

If someone has an idea as to how do we fix it permanently instead of marking every single raported comment as "not spam", now would be a good time to tell me about it :).

1) What is womenlovefest?
This is where we will be archiving all of the amazing posts done during the next week for "The We Love The Women Fandom Hates Love Fest."

2)"Sounds fun, but what is 'The We Love The Women Fandom Hates Love Fest', exactly?"
It started this started as akzseinga's personal need to show some Ginny Weasley love, then it developed into an idea for an action against misogyny in Polish fandom. And then noelia_g asked if she could write in English, because majority of her flist is English speaking. So akzseinga decided if she was going to do a love fest for these characters why not make it big, make it multi-fandom, and multilingual? And that's what she did. Only no one ever realized how people would want to participate. And soon it became too big for her journal.

3. "That's pretty epic, but how do I participate? Do I make a claim?"
Since this all happened so fast claims sort of went out the window. Next time maybe it will have a more formal claims list . For now just check the tags list for the woman you want to praise/tell the world about/lavish love upon. If she's there, you can start posting about her in your journal. Every time you post you can leave a link, preferably with description in her entry. For a more detailed explanation, please see the posting rules.

4) "What If I just want to read about these women?"
Again, check the tags for the characters you want to hear about, go to their entries and enjoy the love. If you think you're going to want to read each and every post devoted to a character, you may want to consider tracking their post as to keep up with all the love.

5)"Anything else?"

Go, create something beautiful about the lady (or ladies) of your choice. Come back here and leave a link to it in a appropriate post. If you wish so, you may also leave a comment here just to be sure that it is going be noticed. But remember to write your character’s name and the language of your choice in the title of the comment.

1. You've already chosen the characters you wish to focus on during this Women Love Fest, so go ahead and start posting things on your journal / blog / tumblr etc! You can post anything: fics, metas, graphics, fanmixes, quotes and so on. Our goal is for everyone to post one entry a day for seven days on every character they chose, but if you decide to do less or more, you're also welcome to join our fest.

Note: do not post any entries on this community. womenlovefest is just a database. Post everything on your personal blog and drop us a comment in a your character's masterpost.

We've recieved so many claims that we can't have people posting entries on the community ― we would have at least a hundred new entries a day! If you want to receive notifications on updates, we recommend tracking comments in masterposts of the characters you want to read about. That way everybody will be able to read interesting things and nobody will be spammed with updates on fandoms they've never heard about.

If you haven't claimed a character in the old claim post, don't worry, just join the fun! As long as the character you want to write about has an entry on womenlovefest, you're free to participate. However, we won't be adding any new characters till the end of September, so if your lady is not here, unfortunately you'll have to wait.

2. When you've made your post on your blog, come here, choose your character from the list and comment her masterpost with a link. This is how the comment should look like:

Category, link, post title, author* (language).
[Everything else you'd like to add - you can just skip it.]

* If you are posting from anything else than a livejournal account, give us a link to your blog / tumblr etc. If you are posting from a livejournal account, just give your username (no html tags, simply username!)

Categories available: Fic (rating), Meta, Fanmix, Graphic, Random. If you're posting something that is purely graphic or music and therefore your post contains nothing written, mention the language anyway, so that the people browsing the community would know which languages they can use when commenting.

Please remember that even though we focus on the female characters, they can also be considered in light of their relationships with other characters (romantic as well as platonic). For example: posting Kara/Lee fic is entirely okay, if the main focus of the fic is on Kara, and not Lee or their relationship.
